The 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development came into force globally on 1 January 2016. The SDGs aim to mobilise efforts to end all forms of poverty, fight inequalities and tackle climate change, while ensuring that no one is left behind.
Unanimously adopted by the UN’ 193 Member States (including Australia), the SDGs apply to all countries and recognise that social, economic, and environmental factors, as well as peace, justice and effective institutions are interconnected and vital for sustainable development.
